Music is Revolution
SSAATTBB, unaccompanied
Words by, Misty L. Dupuis
Music is Revolution was written specifically for a La Musica di Donne Chamber Choir concert with the theme: Music as Revolution. Throughout history, people have used music as resistance and revolution.
From enslaved people who used Spirituals as hope and even communication to escapees on how to find the Underground Railroad, to individuals, such as Olivier Messiaen, who wrote music in prisoner of war camps, artists and musicians have always been at the forefront of social change. This piece is an homage to everyone who has used music to resist and survive.
Run Time and Level
This piece runs at about 3 minutes and 40 seconds. It was written for a collegiate level.
