In Paradisum, or“Into Paradise,” is an antiphon from the Latin liturgy of the Catholic Requiem Mass. This piece was written in memory of my dear friend, the woman I call my “chosen sister,” who was murdered in 2012. I wanted to honor her memory with this piece.
In Paradisum de ducant te angeli
in tuo adventu suscipiat te martyres
et perducant et in civitatem Jerusalem
Chorus angelorum te suscipiat
aeternam habeas requiem
Translation:
May the angels lead you into paradise;
May the martyrs receive you at your arrival and
Lead you to the holy city Jerusalem.
May choirs of angels receive you
May you have eternal rest.
