Christmas-Tree Magic
SATB, a cappella
Words by, Marjorie Booth (1919)

Little is known about poet and writer Marjorie Booth. Christmas-Tree Magic was published in American Poetry Magazine's November/December 1919 edition.

The poem speaks of tiny elves and fairies that live in the Christmas tree. They play with the bells and tinsel and can only be seen occasionally by children. The grown folk believe the noises they hear to be singing from afar. This whimsical poem deserved an equally whimsical setting. The “dings” from the Christmas tree balls and the “swishes” from the tinsel are sprinkled throughout the piece.
