A Day on the Crazy Train: MLD - SC03

I was listening to a lot of Germaine Tailleferre's works when I wrote this piece, and I specifically tried to evoke an aesthetic that I appreciate in some of her work. The two pianos play off of each other in ways that are meant to complement each other as well as rub against each other. While the pianos work in connection, they also exist as separate entities and are meant to be felt separately. The percussion is meant to help create the controlled chaos feel of the piece; it is the element that gives the train the feeling of nearly flying off the tracks.
